What ELSE do we do? Ooh, LOADS! We do ridden showing, side saddle, dressage, have even hunter trialled, which got us some weird looks. Don't think they'd ever seen a Friesian hunter trialling before! Evening Performance A Daytime shot Ridden Showmans Class to Music Olympia Qualifier Another Evening Championship Stressage Competition Winning in Hyde park Practising our Sideways And this is my other horse, the Batty Mare (Susie). She is brilliant fun and I simply adore her. I used to show her in Show Hack classes until she got injured. Now she is a pretty field ornament: Me and Batty Mare Batty Mare

tara, was it you I made some extra, extra long reins for riding a heavy??? I can't remember. I made them the length they wanted and might well have just sent them a set of Shetland single driving reins, they said the were the right length!
Wasn't you was it?

He has got excellent feet though (I've got an awesome farrier), but needs studs during the summer for horrid wet and slippy show rings!

Thanks his name is Bo and we've had him since he was 4 months old and he's 4 now and about 15hh. We're just backing him now, but need to take things slowly with him 'cos he's still a bit immature in the brain department. The good thing is that he doesn't panic. The saddle slipped the other day when my daughter was riding him and he just stood there until we could rescue her I think we will drive him but not yet, I'd like to get him settled in with his riding first.

Happy hackers all round at the moment, when I am not driving the Shetlands I am riding our 15hh black cob Alfie (who would be great to drive too but time and money do not allow at the moment - one day!), my husband also rides Alfie and shows him inhand at the local shows and my daughter (almost 2) also rides the Shetlands.

Such beautiful horses! I would write a book and bore you to tears if I told you my whole life with horses. ;D So...for just the last 3 years..... I used to do a lot of riding...mostly on the Farm. Used the Icelandic's to check the fence line...as I have had problem with poachers cutting my fence. Rides averaged about 3 hours a day. Did a lot of Tolting...was teaching my grey mare to tolt on loose rein... had it down in slow tolt...medium tolt about half the time..and we had just started very fast tolt on loose rein before I had to stop. I was training my grey Ice mare to do Horse Archery, blk once she had more miles would of also been trained. Always something I wanted to do. Though plan on starting that again in a couple of years. Now...I am down to just doing this... puttering about every once in awhile. Or taking my Jenny for a walk. This is me on my blk Ice mare that just sold...and before I was hurt. www.dropshots.com/ShariN#date/2006-11-28/10:58:37Have video of me on my grey Ice mare...but my son took them and try as he might...lets just say, you would get sea sick watching it. <LOL>
