Hello there,
Yesterday Rebel and I had a very good, instructive 45 minute lesson with Susan Skeggs. We had to do a tight cones course and an even tighter obstacle set up in an indoor school. We did these over and over again and my daughter, who was backstepping for me, said she noticed the difference at the end of the lesson when I had got the hang of it and Rebel was going quite well - for him.
I like having lessons and take the opportunity when I can. I had not met Susan before and was impressed. It was well worthwhile.
Rebel was tired after exerting himself for 45 mins but I rode him out today and he was very lively and full of himself so maybe the lesson perked him up. He's a funny little chap.

It is so satisfying when a lesson goes well.

Hi Dalespony - I did the training session too, in the morning. I thought Susan was fantastic, she certainly gets results. She certainly made me work harder than I do practicing at home. My pony, Lottie was tired too when we had finished, but she really worked well.
It was my first training session in my new 4 wheeler - that was a big learning curve in itself! I discovered how to use the footbrake when making a really sharp turn.
Glad you and Rebel enjoyed yourselves. I will certainly be booking a few more lessons with Susan.

Oh, sorry I missed you and Lottie. Glad to hear you have your 4-wheeler now and that it is going well. I look forward to seeing it (and you and Lottie) at the next event. Have fun.

Good to hear you enjoyed your lessons with Susan - I have known her for a long time (since she was a groom for Boyd Exell!) She is a very good trainer and has had an excellent background in driving. She is also full of fun which can help make your problems seem much more manageable and your driving more enjoyable. Keep up the good work - if things start to unravel a bit just imagine her voice in your lesson and try to drive positively the way you did in your lessons. Are you guys quite far south then?
