My friend had her lorry stolen from the coach builders where it was having some upgrade work done. She competes a pony team and a lot of her stuff was in the lorry - you can imagine if you lost all of your rugs, headcollars etc - she hhas lost it all x 5!.
from the BHDTA website...
Horsebox lorry Stolen on 28 January 2010 from Crewe.
MAN 8163 (7.5 Ton) X-Reg Horsebox lorry with Side Stabling. Light Blue Metallic with Dark Blue Stripe. Attractive living with wood finish cabinets and dark blue fabric seating. Shower in Horse section.
Contact Cheshire Constabulary on 01244 350000 and quote Crime Ref: CC10027485
And Faith has asked me to post this -
"When they stole my MAN Horsebox in Crewe last week (light blue metallic with dark blue stripe, side stabling etc), I also lost all my dressage wardrobe (including grooms’ outfits – brown jackets and hats), and marathon gear (including stopwatches), as well as whips and lamps. Also thermatex rugs, grooming kit, miscellaneous tools, footwear, lightweight marathon headcollars etc. I'm feeling gutted by this - it was my home from home! Thank you Faith (Tel 0131 440 0672)"
The lorry is particularly distinctive as it has side stabling on the driver's side - not a common addition. IT willprbably be removed however there may well be signs of it on the body of the lorry.
Thank you.

That is shocking news you would think that a lorry would be safe at the coach builders, not good

Apparently they took nine minutes to get in, start the lorry and get out! It is all on CCTV. They broke through all sorts of padlocks and gates to get in. Shocking!

Scarey stuff hopefully the police may get some leads from the CCTV I hate hearing things like this when you think about what you store in your box and a lot of the items can't easily be replaced sickening news.

And the chances are the contents will not be insured. A friend lost her lorry in a yard fire with all her rugs, boots and tack ect loaded up for an early start show and discovered nothing was covered.

I think that's what's annoying her - you don't really know what's gone until you need it and it's not there.

This lorry has been found!! Not sure of the details, whether stuff was still in it or not, but it was found in Preston.

It would be extremely lucky for the contents still to be there, but if the wagon is unharmed that is something.

Well I spoke to my friend at the weekend - none of her stuff was recovered but she is so happy to have her lorry back! They had tried to remove the side stabling so that was a little damaged but it has all been fixed now and she had it with her at the weekend! All thanks to a vigilant member of the public who was brave enough to report suspicions to the police.

That's not so good.
Bravo to the member of public who reported it too many people turn the other way these days.
