Well I can’t believe it my little Icelandic horse Vinnie has gone, it happened so fast and I wasn’t even there. My OH had to deal with everything. He went down with surgical colic /septicemia three weeks ago. He was only four, I had only just broken him to drive and he was going great. He had the best temperament of any horse I have ever seen. I could even lay him down flat on the ground with his head on my lap and give him a scratch. He has left a big space to fill and will be missed more than I can express here in a few short lines. I have just got a Baudet de Poitou (I’ve always wanted one) I will break him to drive in the next few weeks also a 5yr old Connemara cross selle francais to break. They won’t replace the Vin but in time he might fill the void. Time is a great healer so they say I hope it’s true. I’m looking forward to driving the big Donk.

Oh how awful. As you say the others won't replace Vin, but you can look forward to driving them. I won't add any clichés... but will say that I hope the pain of your loss diminishes quickly.
P.S Where are you in France?

So sorry to hear of your tragic loss of Vinnie at such a young age.
Will you commit the sin of combing your donks ringlets? They always remind me of a push and ride toy we had as a child.
Good luck with your projects.

Oh that is just desperate, so young. Colic is one of those spectres that rears its ugly head out of nowhere and BAM, nothing you can do.
I am so sorry.

Whilst life chucks setbacks at us it also offers up future hopes. Nice donk.
