I'm Sobagirl. I won't be around much as I now work full time .
I'll tell you a little about myself if I may.
I have 3 ponies. An 11hh, 9yr old welsh sec A, an ex-feral welsh who's about 2 1/2yrs and heading for 12hh, and lastly a 6yr old 14hh coloured cob mare with a bit of a weight problem!
I had started to drive my smallest pony. I bought a Bellcrown starter set. I was really enjoying going out and about the village.
Alas, my sister and her partner had a go and between sis hitting him around the sheath area with the whip (she was walking beside him) and her partner shaking the reins at him, he bucked several times and set off across the moor at a trot. Stoppable as far as I'm concerned. Sisters partner promptly fell out, leaving his daughter in the cart!!
Anyway, as it turned out we were lucky enough to have picked a quiet day, and no cars came along the road he was now cantering on. Pony realised he'd missed his field gate, and did a lovely turn around a wheelie bin! He went up a bank a bit and just as the cart turned over the girl jumped out! As my sis came over screaming obscenities to my pony, he stood on her foot!!
Serves her right as far as I'm concerned! Never again will I let anyone without a good knowledge of driving near my pony! They knew all about driving you know!
I did a bit of long reining with him after, and he pulled a log around the field, but he hasn't been in the cart since. Firstly because of the winter and secondly, time.
I'm hoping to get him back in the cart this year, and if I get a trailer, I can go to different places!
Hopefully you lot will let me bend your ears for advice?
Thanks!
