Hello everyone ,
I am new to this forum and completely new to driving as well. I have had horses practically all of my life but have never driven. I own one pony, Bongo, a 13.1 (ish, never had him properly measured - yet) registered Welsh Section B. He is 4 in May and I absolutely adore him and I have owned him since he was 5 months old. We have done quite a bit of in hand showing and he is broken to ride but I am now really wanting to break him to drive. I can ride him but do look a bit on the big side for him (and I never bought him with the idea of me riding him) hence why I think driving would be great for both of us. He has the most fantastic attitude to life and such a lovely temperament and has taken brilliantly to being long reined so I think we will have much fun learning to drive.
I am very lucky that one of my very good friends in on the comittee of a harness club and is helping me and Bongo out immensely. I have just bought my first harness thanks to my friend, a lovely Tedex (I just now need to learn how to put it on ). My friend has gave me some books and a DVD to borrow which is a good starting point for me so I can't thank her enough for her help.
I am really hoping to learn a lot from here, but bear with me as there is so much to learn!! I really am excited about breaking Bongo to drive so any help is much appreciated.
Nice to meet you all and I shall finish off with some photos of my wonderful boy.
Bye for now.
