Hello everyone. I'm Helen E, and the horse in my signature pictures is my tremendous pony, the Small Black Effort. His name is Baron, he is a Friesian, and is the best fun I have ever had with a horse.
He is a true Ride and Drive. I have competed him in ridden showing classes, dressage, side saddle and hunter trials, as well as Private Driving classes.
We were doing HOYS Private Drive qualifiers this year, but he scuppered those plans completely by getting colic, and having surgery (3 metres of intestine removed!). Rather an extreme way to avoid going to a show, but at least he is well on the road to recovery, and I have started to ride him again this week.
My other horse is a chestnut TB mare, who is retired from ridden work, and I have a mad and bizarre idea of breaking her to harness too!
