Today I had the mare pulling a tyre for the first time. She had ten minutes or so in the paddock then we went around the farm yard and buildings without a spook. This with a lady which was ruining my confidence riding due to napping and rearing. Two months of long reining have done wonders for us both although I still cannot keep up for long and we have to practice a lot of halting. She is so much braver when I am on the ground even if she cannot see me due to blinkers.

Well done to you both, did you find she was puffing after pulling it along, Bramble was the first few times she dragged one and behaved beautifully, think she was happy when we got her in the cart as at least it was a rolling weight!

We were both puffing, and she had sweat marks under the harness It was a takeaway and a bottle of fizz aterwards - no wonder I am a tad overweight and not losing it

Well done! Me and my lad have not long started long-reining in menage. He's good at halting and getting better at corners.
