What does everyone else have for spares kits? Do you all carry a spared kit when out on drives ? What do you think should be in a spares kit? (Do you think showing judges get a bit paranoid about spares kits? ;D ) I have a spares roll which I keep attached to my exercise vehicle and which was used when I showed it in exercise vehicle classes I also have a lovely leather box spares kit for when I do private driving classes in the dogcart. It was made for me by Bearhouse Leathercraft.

Here's a rubbish photo of mine, which I have just nicked off the Hartland website. My spares kit is patent leather and was bought for me by my lovely husband.

I have a roll in the Spindlebacked gig, with a rein splice , punch, candle, lighter, knife, rope halter, hoof pick, spare trace, note book and pencil. it's all kept inside a wicker basket.
Then for the waggonette I have a pic-nic basket, with the plates and stuff still in, with bottle opener, (well you never know when a pic-nic moment comes upon you with the waggonette do you??) then I have a leather roll, with the same as the gig, but including adjustable spanners and spare pole peice and pins for the pole.

I just have a very simple put together spares kit. No pictures of course. At some point and when I start going other places, I will get a kit with a much nicer carrier.

You would normally have a candle in a spares kit for private driving incase anything happened to the candle in your lamps also the candle should also have been lit so it is easier ti relight if needed ;D For exercise classes it is not necessary to have a spare candle unless you have lamps on your vehicle.
