Today was the first time that our shettie was put between the shafts of the gorgeous little carriage we bought last weekend for him after many months of searching for just the right one - I was so pleased with him - he took it all in his stride and went a walk round the stubble field calm as can be! This is the pony who when he arrived with us 3 years ago would not let a human near him unless penned in a corner - we were only able to begin handling him about 6 months later when he decided maybe we werent so bad and would'nt eat him alive! Im so proud of him, he's come such a long way and just looks fab with his little carriage, I hope he enjoys his new vocation in life as much as im enjoying learning all about it too! My mum was out with the camera - I wish I coulds share the photos, but dont have a cable to connect camera to computer agh!

photos are a must! You must find a way Obi Wan Kanobi! (sp?) It's amazing just how well these little unhandled Shetlands come at. Once they realise youa re not going to eat them they can be so loyal. They have a very undeserved reputation, I have only been kicked by a Shetland once, and that was a crabby old brood mare who had had her own way for years.
