Is there any info available that says if a certain shape blinker is used for vehicle, horse type or why you should choose 1 shape over another??? I am having a discusion on this and couldn't find any info on a web search.

Since there were no responses I consulted Hunt harness and thought I would pass along what he told me. The square blinders are for a formal turnout while the round are more towards a less formal vehicle.

I think that I may disagree with this. Most heavy horse work harness that has blinkers has square ones. I think that it is personal choice and always has been.

I tried to do some research and on Smucker's site in horses not draft the cheaper ones had round blinders and the more expensive show harness and fine harness were square. Not sure if that matters but couldn't find much else to look at

I was just reading the rule book for USEF and they also had some info on what shape is appropriate for what type of vehicle. Some instances it didn't make a recomendation but it did on several vehicles. I realize the US rules do not matter to you but it was nice to see some references
