Hello everybody and a very Happy New Year to you all.
Well, Rebel, husband and I have done our first drive of the year. We wondered if it would go ahead, due to the weather, but as it was the snow and ice had disappeared and 1st Jan was dull but dry and not too cold so the drive, run jointly by the BDS and Oaks Driving Club, went ahead as planned. It was good to get out driving again and we trotted most of the way round the 5 mile route of quiet lanes. Rebel was a very good boy and even my husband (who doesn't really enjoy being in a horse-drawn carriage) was happy to see a group of vintage cars being driven on their New Year's Day drive. We met them on a narrow lane and pulled into the side to let them pass. Everyone was very happy and smiling with lots of waves. When we arrived back at the venue we were supplied with lovely hot soup and rolls. A good morning out for all.

Happy New Year to you too ;D
What a fantastic start to the new year sounds like it was a very enjoyable day, unfortunately we are still dealing with ice at the moment roads are like ice rinks so won't be doing anything with the horses for a little while yet.
Hope you have many more enjoyable driveouts during 2011 ;D

There was too much ice here as well to consider taking any horses out driven or ridden. What a great way of starting the year though.
