So how much of the white stuff does everyone have?
Yesterday I had a "snow day" from work as the roads beside me had not been gritted and it was just to hazardous to even attempt to drive the 20miles to work today I attempted it but the drive home was scary complete white-out and the roads again had not been gritted on my way home I never even saw one gritter just terrible.

Everywhere passable yesterday but not so today. Brother in Law gave up trying to get here to work and I chickened out of taking my mum to hospital. Fortunately for me they rang soon after to cancel.

I am in Sussex and we started having snow yesterday. Fortunately it wasn't too bad at first and I even managed to go and collect my new (second-hand) trailer and get it home safely. By evening the snow was getting deeper and my son-in-law took 6 hrs. getting home by train from London - Edenbridge. He arrived home freezing cold at 11.30 pm. Overnight it must have snowed continuously because this morning we had 5 in. or more. I have fallen over once on the lane outside the house and slipped badly three times. I didn't know if I could even get the Land Rover out as the lane is lethal and none of the roads have been gritted. However, being almost out of food for us (I bought sacks and sacks of horse food yesterday) I needed to go to the supermarket which is 7 miles away so waited until 10.30 am. and took my husband and two neighbours and we eventually reached the supermarket after 1hr 5mins bypassing a huge number of lorries stuck on the main A road. I didn't attempt to get to work and it doesn't look as though I will be able to get there tomorrow either as we have been forecast another 8 in. tonight, carrying on tomorrow. I don't want to take the L/Rover out again unless I have to.
I do like the winter but NOT the snow. I hope everyone is coping with the cold and your horses/ponies are fine too.
