Just wondering if I can pick some of you computer bods brains !
I have a Acer Aspire 5710 laptop, had it a couple of years and never gave me a bit of bother !
Until tonight !
I fired her up and all was well, then the screen went black, but if you look carefully you can faintly see the stuff on the screen. I think the backlight has gone on the screen ! I have looked to see if there is anywhere to switch on/off the backlight that I may have done accidentally but cant see anything !
So do you reckon I am correct in thinking it is the backlight, and if it is, what kind of ballpark figure are you talking to get it fixed ?
Thanks !
Caroline

That's a hard one with laptops it can be a variety of problems best to perhaps take it to your local PC World they would advise and give you a quote, it cost me £100 the other week to get a Data Recovery

I am not a computer bod in any way shape or form but my first instinct would be to plug in an external monitor, if I could. and see if that had the same problem. As it could possibly be the monitor settings in control pannel that have got out of kelter.
