I was there on Wednesday night and he is amazing - I didn't think he was a 92 however and I didn't think he was ten points better than Parzival. And amazing as he is he doesn't move me the way Blue Hors Matine did - she was something else! www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQgTiqhPbwI was pleased to have seen him in the flesh though - wonderful atmosphere.

The standard of the top dressage horses is spiralling into the stratosphere. Us mere mortals dont stand a chance (not that I ever did).

I admire the talent, time and effort that goes in to performing and producing these amazing horses but it isn't really my cup of tea I couldn't sit and watch a whole days worth of dressage every now and then is fine. I shall go and sit in my corner now ;D

A whole days worth of club level dressage or even the National Champs is too much I agree but there were only a dozen or so at Olympia and it was brilliant. Don't fancy being a judge.

I have to admit to enjoying dressage writing. Getting the judges views on some of the combinations, especially the comments that are not to be written down. Some venues really cater for the judges and writers, heaters, kettle and assorted drinks, snacks and sandwiches all in the judges box. Others think of the judges and forget the writers, whilst some places are best forgotten and never returned to. One venue expected the judge and writer to queue for both food and toilets then wondered why said judge started the second half a bit late.

Hoping to get down to Olympia next year I must admit I do enjoy watching the puissance but felt it lacked the excitment of HOYS this year, was a little bit disappointed with it
